Running the Business...
As I travel to Lansing for our monthly Grand Lodge Board of Directors meeting it occurs to me this Board can make a Grand Master look really good or really bad. I am blessed with a hard working group of men who are dedicated to our craft. While it seems mundane to go to meeting after meeting after meeting, this stuff excites the hell out of me. We get to set the course, we get to make great change to the craft. I am so proud of this group of guys. This is pretty heady stuff.

LPI receives -
Tonight being received by my other home Lodge Lincoln Park-Ionic #539. Flawless, absolutely flawless. I belong to two different Lodges and the dynamics within the Lodges are far different. The bottom line is good Masons belong to and believe in both. I think that is the best thing about our craft. We all see this journey a little different and we will all experience our Masonic experience a bit differently. At the end of each day from bent knee we are all thankful to be Masons.

Going home
Tonight is my official visit to one of my home Lodges. Tonight I was officially received by Trenton-Wyandotte Lodge number 8. These guys are doing a lot of good things, one of the things they pride themselves on is ritual. It really showed tonight, they seemingly were nonplussed by our presence. They received us as if they do it everyday and went on with the business of the Lodge. Bravo!

Arizona -
Quick trip to Arizona for the reunion there. I wish we could have scheduled WAY more time there. Have I mentioned Winter sucks in Michigan? I was amazed at the turnout and the number of people we new in Arizona. I think everyone there works for the Chamber of Commerce. They really work the sales pitch.
These reunions are a great member benefit, I great opportunity to see old friends make new friends and learn about the good Michigan Masons do. Although a very quick trip, it was nice to see Masons, it was nice to see good weather. But alas time to go shovel snow (I am sure).

On the road again..
...with all apologies to Willie Nelson, wait I guess he could not hear me singing. It is time to go to the mac daddy of Masonic Conferences, The Conference of Grand Masters of Masons in North America, this year hosted in Baltimore, Maryland. Over sixty Grand Masters from jurisdictions all over the world come together for an extended weekend to share ideas and insight to make this fraternity the best in the world. I really look forward to this event every year. I always learn something new and this year is no exception.
The Fantastic Inner Harbor portion of Baltimore. The very place Francis Scott Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner. Very cool, very cool. If you think about the history here in this part of the nation it will make you misty. Patriotism abounds!

Youth Training
Sunday afternoon in Berkley (no not California) have I mentioned the weather sucks in Michigan this winter? ANYWAY--Sunday afternoon Berkley hosted the adult training module for the Rainbow Girls. This is good stuff. The adult training teaches adults how to deal with and help the youth of Rainbow. I always learn something new at these classes. Many thanks to Rainbow for having this class and letting me attend! 2/09
